ugh, i really don't post often....
So this past weekend Kyle and I went home to my parents place (Algonquin). Was a decent enough trip--a two-day one-night thing was long enough, I think. So that was a good time seeing people I haven't seen in nearly a year...

Today at work, the neighbor from across the street back home showed up and told me he was sent by my dad to check up on me. Interesting considering I was just home two days ago...but whatever. He's a nice guy and I was happy to see a familiar face. We talked a little and he was trying to find me another job where I could make more money, and he kept suggesting places that were a bit too far for me to ride my bike to, so he began to understand a little of how much a car would be kinda nice to have. The server he had was really nice and told him that I was the restaurant's favorite host and that I am a hard worker (partially cuz it is true and partially so that he had a good report for my dad). As he was leaving he commented that he may talk to my parents about getting me a car, or at least helping out. So maybe that will happen....probably not, but who knows. It would be really nice to have some fast way to get around this winter.

It is now just under four weeks until my 19th birthday, putting me that much closer to becoming a waitress!! yay me!!

And that is my quick update.

    busy busy busy
so many things going on lately. i've been working a lot. not as much as i need to, but it is enough to really wear me out. i need another job so that i can keep up with payments for different things and still be saving money for school next semester...but no one is calling me back for interviews or anything :( i would really like a job where i wouldn't have to stand and bus tables for ten hours straight. seriously. sitting down shouldn't be the most amazing feeling that i have in a day; that's depressing. oh well. hopefully my folks'll be bringing down my dirt bike for me sometime this or next weekend so that i can have SOME form of transportation around here...it really would be nice. that way i wouldn't have to work my ten hours days and walk to and from work :S lol but whom am i kidding? i really don't think my dad's gonna let me use it :S well, it's time for me to hit the hay. i open at work tomorrow.

    love you all!

    things
Kyle bought tickets for him and I to go to Arizona to visit his older brother and his wife and their son and new baby (girl?) in the last week of July. I'm so excited--it'll be a great time :) and at the rate I'm earning money at Lonestar, it looks like I will be able to make my next payment ok, considering I have prolly $40 or $50 in the bank and another $130 in tips, so I'm already almost half way to the full payment ($340) to be paid the first of May. No worries this time! :D

Anyways, just an update I suppose.

    Girls gone...green?
okay. so tonight was a big night for me n the ladies of walker 304, 305, and 306. mallory and i had our first facials/face masks tonight. there were five of us ladies--we had gotten together for spa night!! (which i am totally against, but i have a big interview tomorrow and got suckered into the spa thingy :S) so we got all our mask stuff on and were taking pics n such when we got this idea that we wanted to go move ashley's and my laundry from the washers to the dryer WHILE WEARING THE MASK. now, i live in a dorm. and in this dorm, we live on the third floor on the North side. the laundry is on the first floor on the South side. and you have to walk past the restaurant and through/past the main entrance in order to get back and forth. so we all walked down there, cracking up the whole way cuz we look like mosters and were trying to be some...and on the way back, ashley and i were carrying all our thongs (we let them air dry in our room to hellp them last longer) on our arms with our green face crap and had to walk like that through the main lobby and past a bunch of guys and gals. lmao it was great! then when we got to our floor, our RA saw us and laughed and started to ask us why we were carrying scraps of cloth on our arms--but then she figured out what those "scraps" really were. hahahahaha fun, i guess. hilarious, definately! so i said i'd write about it and now i have...so that's all....

except i need to record this:

ashley was looking up stuff for her paper today and happened to run across an acronym that the students have for Elgin Community College (ECC). and this is what she read aloud to me:

ash: ECC stands for Easy, Cheap, and Convenient

me: Does that stand for the school or the students that go there?

ash: (laughing a lot) haha! now i'm going to use that on my profile!!

me: you want to tell people that you're easy, cheap, and convenient? that probably isn't the best idea you know...

ash: hey! now you can tell your dad that you didn't want to go there because you didn't want to be easy, cheap or convenient!!

haha. i just don't wanna forget that convo...

    "the positive side of life"
    Living on Earth is expensive,
but it does include a free trip
    around the sun every year.

    How long a minute is
depends on what side of the
    bathroom door you're on.

    Birthdays are good for you;
    the more you have,
    the longer you live.

    Happiness comes through doors you
didn't even know you left open.

Ever notice that the people who are late
    are often much jollier
than the people who have to wait for them?

Most of us go to our grave
with our music still inside of us.

If Wal-Mart is lowering prices every day,
how come nothing is free yet?

You may be only one person in the world,
but you may also be the world to one person.

Some mistakes are too much fun
    to only make once.

    Don't cry because it's over;
    smile because it happened.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
    and all are different colors....but
they all exist very nicely in the same box.

A truly happy person is one who
can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Working for God on earth does not pay much,
but His Retirement plan is out of this world.
